Ski Instructor Training: TGM working with the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA)

Have you ever thought about being a ski instructor and wondered how to go about it?

Perhaps thinking of a GAP year, a change of direction or perhaps something a bit different to do alongside your other work?

TGM have been offering ski instructor training through PSIA for over 10 years and can help you get started.
The PSIA and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) was founded in 1961 and is the world’s largest organisation dedicated to teaching people how to ski and snowboard with over 32,000 members worldwide. It has over 300 snowsports schools in membership in ski areas across the world.

PSIA has a mission to support members in creating positive learning experiences for their clients, developing their personal skills and having fun!

If you are looking to turn your love of skiing into a full or part time career joining PSIA and following their certification (qualification) route may be for you. Certification is a visible sign of your credibility and indicates to potential employers that you can teach to the same standards as thousands of other instructors.

PISA offer levels in the full range of disciplines, but TGM has a focus on developing new instructors at L1 in Alpine Skiing. Our technical adviser and head of skiing is a PSIA examiner and runs our L1 Training courses (clinics) alongside our other snowsports activities in Austria.

Before registering for a clinic you should have a good personal standard of skiing and have undertaken some shadowing of ski instruction. TGM can help you through the process.

You can find more information about PSIA by visiting the website www.thesnowpros.org and more details on how we can help by contacting our offices.
