How much advice and support do you offer first time Party Leaders?
We offer you all the advice and support you require – every step of the way. Rest assured we organise everything.
You could sign up for our SCO (Snowsport Course Organiser) course. This is a certificated course and covers all the information you will need to run a school ski trip. Some LEAs may insist on Party Leaders attending one of these courses.
Will the hotel be exclusive to our group?
The area you choose will determine whether or not sole occupancy is available. Most of our hotels are sole occupancy but may have a few of the hotelier’s friends /private guests staying. Other larger hotels have capacity for 2 groups. In these circumstances the 2 groups have their own floor and dining facilities
Can you advise us on insurance?
Yes. Many schools have their own travel insurance policies to cover trips. For those who wish to use our recommended insurer, we have teamed up with Ancile Insurance to offer a comprehensive insurance package for every tour. We can provide you with the details. Cost is around £25 per person for a weeks snowsports or activity holiday.
How do we pay you?
We agree a three-stage process so that payments can be staggered to make it easier for parents.
How much work will I have to do?
Once your school ski trip is booked, it is safely in our hands. We will only ask for your assistance in understanding your specific requirements and you will be responsible for ensuring that the dates on our checklist are adhered to. During the process, we will also ask you to provide accurate student and teacher names, passport and dietary requirement details where appropriate. You will also be asked for your preferences on an evening entertainment programme.
How do I get my students to sign up for the tour?
We can provide posters to put up around the school to advertise the holiday as well as a Power Point presentation which can be used for Assemblies and parents’ meetings. We can also come into school during a lunchtime with a short presentation.
How far ahead must I book?
Ideally, book your trip between 12-24 months in advance. This will give you the best choice of accommodation and allow parents plenty of time to save up, but we always welcome late bookings. We can also help with setting up a bespoke payment plan.
What free place ratio do you offer?
We offer a free place ratio of 1:10 or 1:8 for a group of 42 full paying students on a single-decker coach. For flight groups we offer a 1:10 free place ratio.
Our group is quite small. Can we still travel with you?
Can I see/visit the resort before I book? Do you provide references?
We can offer inspection trips tailored to your specific needs. We are more than happy to put you in touch with some of our happy clients.
What equipment do the children need to bring and what will be included?
Full ski and snowboard hire including helmets is included. Children need to provide their own clothing, see our kit list. This information will be reiterated at a pre-trip parents’ information evening on a date of your choice.
Will our group have their own ski representative or will we have to share a resort rep?
You will have your own ski rep for the whole week. Their role is to coordinate your skiing arrangements and entertainment and to ensure your stay is enjoyable, safe and memorable. All our reps are carefully selected, fully trained and familiar with the ski area and are on duty 24-hours a day should any emergency arise.
How many hours of ski lessons are included?
Four hours of lessons are included, but you can pay a supplement to increase this to five hours.
What happens if there isn't enough snow during our ski trip?
Snow Security: Snow cannons operate in all our resorts to assist satisfactory snow cover on the slopes. This means in many Austrian resorts, skiing is now possible from early December until late April making Easter skiing an attractive proposition.
Snow Guarantee: most of our resorts are within 1 hour travelling distance from a glacier which offers guaranteed snow.
Can we have a hot mountain lunch on our trip?
Our standard packages include a packed lunch, but we can organise a hot mountain lunch at a supplement.
What kind of evening entertainment can you offer for under-16s?
We can offer a full evening entertainment package including ski shows, ice hockey tournaments, discos, movie nights, bowling, quiz, indoor swimming and traditional evenings of food and culture.
We'd like an all-inclusive package - do your trips include evening entertainment?
We are able to offer you a very cost-effective pre-paid excursion programme to suit you. The choice typically includes swimming, bowling, watching a local ice hockey match, a Tyrolean evening, ice curling in addition to in-house activities. Full details and prices will be given with your quotation. Please note that snow based activities may not be available at Easter.
How do you choose your coaches for the trip?
We take great care in our provision of coaches and transport. We ensure that all coaches are less than 5 years old, that the company is fully compliant with current legislation and driver training and the vehicles have European recovery measures in place.
