We realise that schools must remain impartial in their advice to parents and guardians relating to the vaccination of children against Covid 19.
As a travel business we strongly recommend that all our travellers accept the offer of any Covid Vaccination they are offered by the NHS. This includes both adults and children.
Currently unvaccinated adults, those who have not had a two dose course of a recognised UK vaccine cannot enter Austria or Germany for a holiday. Therefore all adults on a school trip must be double vaccinated. Single dose vaccinations for children over 12 years old, are not accepted by the German and Austrian governments as proof of vaccination. Currently the Austrian government is working on a solution for children 12 – 17 years old to enter Austria. Children under 12 do not have to be vaccinated or take any test.
Therefore even if a child 12 – 17 years old has received one vaccine dose they cannot enter Austria and may have to take a PCR test. However a single dose will hopefully protect these children from contracting Covid 19 whilst in Austria and becoming ill, or contracting Covid 19 and passing it to other people on the ski trip.
